We were delighted to welcome OFs, Felsted parents and spectators along to the inaugural OF Netball tournament on Saturday 25 September. Three OF teams and a team composed of current Felsted parents (aka ‘High Roding Rebels’) battled it out in a series of competitive fixtures on the netball courts in the hope of securing the winners’ trophy.
It was a close competition and the winning team is pictured with Lucy Barrett [left to right: Rachel Freedman (fgn09-16), Lucy Bailes (fbn07-19), Amy Tydeman (fbn09-17), Izzy Minks (fgn10-17), Emily Butler (fgn10-17) and Tabby Carey (fbn09-16)].
OF Izzy Minks from the winning team secured the player of the tournament award as voted by umpires and opposing players for her excellent court craft and accurate shooting, closely followed by Megan Powell (fgn07-12) for her outstanding defence.
Amy Tydeman, captain of the winning team was presented with the inaugural OF Tournament trophy by Irene Duffy, former England Netball coach from 1979 - 1984.
In 2020 Felsted celebrated 50 years of co-education. Unfortunately, due to the global pandemic, many of our activities had to be postponed, and we were delighted to finally celebrate this special milestone on the day.
The provisional date for next year’s netball tournament is Friday 3 September 2022!
