U16 Girls' National Hockey Finalists

Felsted School’s U16 girls’ Hockey team are in the T2 National Hockey Finals after an incredible match against Reigate Grammar for the semi-final in February.

It was a high tempo start to the game, with Felsted’s Kimmie’s first strike being saved by a Reigate defender, and then Eva managing to find Julie down the baseline who then scored Felsted’s first goal! Izzy W stopped some dangerous counter attacks, allowing Eva to score a further two times with reverse strikes, leaving Felsted winning 3-0 at half time.

Reigate came back fighting in the second half, scoring with corner shots, the game ended up with a 3-2 score into the last minute of the game, when Felsted’s Emily S saved a drag flick, holding Felsted’s win!

The girls will now face Scarborough College on 3 March at Lee Valley Olympic Stadium.

“The team has done fantastically well to progress through to the national final” comments Loren Willis, Director of Girls’ Sports.”They have had some excellent team performances to get this far, including impressive wins over Rugby School and Reigate Grammar. The final will be a fantastic day for the team”.
