U14 East Regional Hockey Champions

The Felsted School U14 boys’ hockey team have been crowned East Regional Champions and are now through to the National Finals at Lee Valley Olympic Park.

The boys’ started their week with the rescheduled East Preliminary round, winning all three of their matches and conceding no goals against Framlingham (4-0), Haberdashers (3-0) and Gresham’s (3-0).

The boys progressed to the East finals day, where a win over The Perse (3-0) put them in a strong position going into their final game against Norwich. The boys fought hard and despite Norwich levelling the score on two occasions, Felsted held their nerve to claim a 3-2 win.

They will now proceed to the U14 National Finals at Lee Valley Olympic Park on 23 April.

The boys have impressed throughout the competition so far and their effort and attitude can't be faulted. They have remained calm at pivotal moments in the close games and have been rewarded for their efforts. This is an achievement they should be very proud of and I hope they relish the opportunity to compete at a national level.
