Toby King Signs a Two Year Academy Contract With West Bromwich Albion

Toby is an excellent example of a young man who is making the most of his talent through hard work and commitment. Toby joined Felsted Prep School in Year 7 before moving to Deacon’s House in September 2015.  At this point, he was on the books of West Ham United and was training several days a week with the junior academy. The structure of the academy did not follow the school timetable and so Toby needed to organise himself at different times to ensure that he covered his GCSE courses.

His resilience to do this was outstanding and put him in a good position when circumstances led to Toby leaving West Ham at the end of Year 10. His determination and dedication has been clear to see this year and in what is a highly competitive environment and at times also a challenging one, he has secured a two year academy contract with West Bromwich Albion and signed his contract on July 3rd 2018.

Toby will be greatly missed by the Felsted community and especially Deacon’s House, and of course, his closest friends. He has been a great ambassador for the sport during his time at Felsted and we will be following his progress with huge interest in the years to come.

I am sure we will see Toby back at Felsted to visit and it is with admiration in his achievement that we say goodbye.
