The Steeps 2019

After the many PE classes had tested the well trodden Flitch Way during lessons it became obvious that the traditional route was not in the best shape due to the extremely wet weather in recent weeks and so a revised course, on campus, was devised and set up so no distances were compromised.

A huge thank you to Head of Grounds, Nick Lockhart and his team for helping set up the ‘revised’ course that covered all the school playing fields on both sides of the Stebbing Road. The staff were out in force to record, marshall and in several cases run the course. A big round of applause for all those staff and well done to those who completed the race with the pupils, alongside a few Old Felstedians.

The aim of the day is to get as many pupils running as possible and it was great to see each house so well supported. It is easy to spot the top 6 in each house, but to all those who took part and braved some tough weather conditions I hope you are proud of your achievements. You will know the effort you put in and that is what the event is all about.

The house competition on the day went to Deacon's and Stocks's, with individual honours going to Oliver Butler and Annabel Hills in the Senior Race, Sam Hewitt and Erika Smart in the Intermediate Race and Charles Preston and Amalee Wootton.

The participation cup was awarded to the house with the biggest % of finishers and this was Follyfield.
