Sam's Summer Tennis Success

Over the summer, I have spent a lot of my time playing tennis and competing in many tournaments. My summer tennis started in July when I went on tour with my tennis coach and other players to Ilkley and Newcastle. I had some success and really enjoyed competing against quality players that I hadn’t played against before. This experience, I believe, has helped improve my game. I then spent August playing regional tournaments, reaching 1 singles final and winning 3 regional doubles events. I ended the summer on a real positive note by qualifying for the main draw of a British Tour in Bournemouth.

My plan over the next 12 months is to continue developing my tennis skills and competing in British Tours and Junior International events.

The tennis world has recently seen the success of Emma Raducanu, with her reaching the 4th round of Wimbledon in her 1st ever Grand Slam and then winning the US Open only last week at the age of 18. Over the past 2 years, she has been studying for her A-Levels whilst continuing to play tennis at a high level and this is an inspiration to me as I continue my development over the next year whilst also studying for my A-Levels.
