Jessica wins award for cricketing excellence

Felsted Sports Scholar Jessica O was recently presented with the Rachel Heyhoe Flint Award for cricketing excellence in the 2019 season, where she scored four hundreds and five fifties.

The award was presented to her at Lord’s Cricket Ground during Day 4 of the recent England vs India Test Match, by leading Sri Lanka cricketer Kumar Sangakkara. Jess, who recently received a strong set of GCSE results, balanced her studies playing for the Essex Women’s T20 cricket team and the Sunrisers Cricket Academy. She was also part of Felsted’s National Champions team in 2019, batting in the super over in the semi-final at just 14 years old.

Also a skilled hockey player, Jess has been part of the England U16 girls’ hockey squad for the past two years alongside playing National League women’s hockey for the last three years with Chelmsford and U18s with Sevenoaks.
