Felstedians Representing at Top Level in Rugby

Although the School rugby season is over, a number of players have been representing their clubs, county, representative sides and academies. This has resulted in success for a several players!

We are delighted to announce that Ollie Stonham Felsted 1stXV Captain has been offered a full time Academy Contract with Saracens Senior Squad which will commence this July.

This is an outstanding achievement for Ollie, who since joining Saracens Academy at the beginning of the 2018 Rugby Season has impressed both the Academy and Senior Coaching staff at Saracens.

Recently he was named as one of the thirty five Academy players to watch for the future. He will follow in the footsteps of Old Felstedians Max Malins, who is at Saracens, and Rory Hutchinson and Ehren Painter, who are at Northampton Saints. All have played for their clubs this season in the Premiership and European Cup, and all three of them have been named in the Premiership side of the week this season with Rory Hutchinson having made the side four times.

On the International front, Samuel Bryan has been selected for the South of England U17 Squad who will be in a training camp with players selected from the North. From this camp, an England U17 squad will be selected for two International matches as well as a summer tour to South Africa.

We have also had several players representing Northampton and Saracens Academy. In February both Archie Douglas and Hugo Carey played for Northampton Saints against Leeds Carnegie U16s. After the match both players received good news that they have made the final cut for the remainder of this season.

During the Easter Holiday Tyler will fly off to South Africa with The Lambs for their four match tour starting in Port Elizabeth against Kenya and finishing off in Cape Town against Western Province Academy.

The following players have also represented Saracens U18s Academy in their League Matches: Ollie Stonham, Harry Sturge, George Whalley, Samuel Bryan and Alex Wardell. Congratulations also goes to Tristan Smith, who over Half Term made his debut for Saracens U17s as well as being named in the U18 match day squad.
