Felsted Sixth Former, Sam Wisbey, represented Great Britain in a Schools and Universities Polo Association U18 match against India.

Sam first started playing polo for the Felsted School team in Year 10, having already represented the school at show jumping, and in his first outdoor polo tournament he received the honour of ‘most valuable player’. Since then he has represented both Felsted and the Moor Hall Farm (MHF) polo team, run by the school team’s coach Alec Banner-Eve, in a number of tournaments.

Sam is also Captain of Felsted Riding and has qualified for the National Championships every year since he joined. Last summer Sam was selected for the Pony Club National Riding Talent Pathway, giving him access to many training opportunities, including national event coaching and media training with Equestrian Pro TV.

I was very pleased and honoured to be selected to represent GB against India; it was extremely enjoyable meeting the players and I learnt a lot from the experience which I can hopefully use to improve my game in future matches.

Riding is a strong discipline at Felsted across all ages, with riders regularly representing the school at National level. Group riding lessons are offered at a nearby Riding School for Felsted Prep Pupils and pupils of all ages with their own ponies may be selected to compete for the school in a range of competitions.
