Essex Squash Grand Prix Champions

Felsted players were in outstanding form at the final EJS Grand Prix of the season held at Lexden Squash Club. Ben B (Year 6) won all of his matches to finish the season as Champion in the U-11 Group A category.

He has had an excellent year, winning all 7 GP events and only losing one match all season. He looks forward now to representing Essex in up-coming Inter-County matches.

Archie also finished the season in style as he won the U-15 Group and was confirmed as Champion as well. He has won 5 of the 7 events, losing only 4 matches all season. He has made great progress since starting to play squash in the Prep School 3 years' ago.

In the U-13 Group B & C categories Tom and Ossie both played in commanding style to finish undefeated and win their groups. In Group A, Oliver and George faced a tough challenge and competed strongly to finish in 3rd & 4th places respectively.

In the U-11 Group B category, Rocco performed strongly again. He lost one match against a County Main Squad player but won all his other matches, including a triumph against a player who he lost to in the previous event. He showed good mental strength, tactical acumen and athletic skills to finish in 2nd place. Austin pushed his opponents all morning and played some fine squash to finish in 4th place in the group.

Finally, Sachiko won all of her matches to clinch the U-11 girls group in only her second Grand Prix event. In her first event she finished in 4th place and has worked hard on the practice court over the last couple of weeks to put in this improved performance.

5 winners, 1 runner-up and a 3rd place is a marvellous way to the end the GP series as our players continue to develop their squash skills.
