Cricket & Netball Tour to Barbados 2018

Girls’ Cricket and Netball players from Felsted School went on a Caribbean adventure this summer, visiting their island of Barbados to play new opposition in a very different climate.

The Netball teams played a total of ten fixtures against local clubs and schools. All games were played outside and despite the humidity and new style of play providing an extra challenge for the girls, the secured a number of victories, including the Netball 2nd team winning four out of their five games. Similarly, Felsted cricketers played five competitive fixtures. Four of which were against the Barbadian women’s squad and one against an U15s boys team from Trinidad and Tobago. Felsted girls played very well against such strong competition and in such a warm and dry climate.

Whilst on tour the Felsted girls also had the opportunity to experience the island on both land and water, with a jeep safari, a catamaran trip, jet skiing and swimming with turtles, as well as experiencing the cultural sights and sounds of the Harbour Lights performance.

We were really proud of the girls’ sportsmanship throughout the tour; both winning honourably and losing graciously. They truly showed their Felsted values and were amazing ambassadors for the school
