Bianca Williams Inspires Felsted Sport Scholars

British athlete Bianca Williams spent an afternoon at Felsted recently , sitting in with a Yr 11 and Yr 13 PE lesson. She explained to the pupils what it is like to be an elite athlete and spoke about her personal journey to date in the athletics world.

Bianca competed for England at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, where she won bronze medals in the 200m, and in the 4x100m relay. She has also won two medals as part of the British team at the IAAF World Relays; with silver in the 4x200m in 2014, and bronze in the 4 x100m in 2015. She ranks fifth on the UK all-time list at 200m with her best of 22.58secs.

Bianca talked through her pathway within the sport and her passion for the relay and the individual events. She explored the opportunities for women in the sport and felt supported with her future ambitions.

It was great to see such a positive role model speaking to the Felsted pupils and we look forward to following her career as Tokyo draws closer.
