OF University Ambassadors

The Old Felstedian Society has launched a dedicated OF University Ambassadors scheme designed to help with the transition from school into university life.

OF Ambassadors are second and third year undergraduates offering their invaluable advice and support to freshers in their first year at university. They are also on hand to help Felsted sixth form students with any questions they might have about their university campus, student life and course options.

OF Society President Sarah Macdiarmid (m85-87), who took over the role from Brian Lott OBE (a56-62) in May, comments; “We have been building on Brian Lott's initiative of establishing a network of OF Ambassadors, and our group of Ambassadors at UK universities are shining examples of what can be achieved. Despite the upheavals this year due to Covid, Felsted freshers who left school earlier this year can now benefit from the support of a friendly, familiar Felsted face at 10 different universities. We all hope this will extend to actual face-to-face social fun too in the coming weeks! As a society we feel that this work is invaluable to ensure that sixth formers and our young OFs can see that the support from the school does not stop when they leave - it continues...it just looks a little different.”

The scheme is part of the wider OF Ambassador programme which recruits volunteers from across the global community to help organise more social aspects of the OF Society.
