OF Thomas Fleming Ferrari European Challenge

OF Thomas Fleming Ferrari European Challenge

Huge congratulations to Thomas Fleming (fac14-21) who has taken the Ferrari European Challenge Championship by storm in his PRO debut this season! Racing infront of hundreds of thousands of live viewers on Sky Sports F1, Thomas paid tribute to his support network.

How did you go from competing in the British Kart Championship last year to driving pro in the Ferrari European Challenge series?

“It’s been an incredible journey thus far in my car racing career. Halfway through 2022, my family and I rekindled an old relationship with John Lowry the chairman of FF Corse, which is a Ferrari customer racing team, and I was invited down to their headquarters in Silverstone for a meeting to see what potential step into cars they could provide for me.

We agreed that the Ferrari European Challenge in the PRO-Amateur class would be a great championship to test my ability against some talented drivers, as well as grow my profile as a driver. I didn’t do a lot of testing beforehand however, so to get me up to scratch in car racing and transition smoothly we chose to learn the basics in slower and cheaper machinery such as Mazdas MX5 cup cars and Radicals. After wins and podiums came within my first weekends of car racing, we then decided to enter into the PRO category to see if we could potentially challenge some of the other PRO drivers.

Now, only a few months later, I have won two rounds of the Ferrari European Challenge championship on the european stage in front of hundreds of thousands of live viewers on Skysports F1. For me, I'm still coming to terms with it all as it has been a quick journey up the motorsport ladder which has needed a lot of adaptability but wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support from FF Corse, my sponsors and my family.”
