OF Izzy Hendricks Elected to the United States' Oldest Academic Honour Society

Congratulations to Isabella (Izzy) Hendricks (tn18-20) who was elected in December 2023 by Columbia University to be a member of the Junior Phi Beta Kappa. This is a national honours society representing the liberal arts and sciences, which recognises academic achievement, as well as intellectual promise and character, whereby only the top 10% of students in selected universities across the United States are chosen each year.

Izzy is completing her final year at Columbia in New York, studying Neuroscience, and is hoping to return to the UK next year to complete her masters.

Izzy was a Hunter Scholar during her time at Felsted and told us this “was a pivotal opportunity” which provided her with the foundation and confidence to take on her bachelor’s degree.

“The science programme and my teachers at Felsted - who taught me the importance of scientific research in improving the lives of others - sparked my interest and desire to continue further studies.”
