Year 12 Artists' First Foray into Oil Painting!
By Ms L. Jackson, Head of Art
Our Year 12 Artists have donned aprons and got stuck into their first oil paintings of the course. For some, it is their first ever experience of painting with oils, but they are progressing well and some lovely work has started to emerge.

These paintings were inspired by their 'Daily Life' theme and so the brief was to create a composition that showed an aspect of everyday life, but linking to the work of an artist they had chosen.

Pupils selected a variety of artists to study, from 17th Century Baroque painter Diego Velázquez, to Contemporary Modernist David Hockney - hence in their work you can see a variety of colour palettes. The finished paintings will be displayed in the Safi Coffee shop next term alongside other work from their Daily Life project.
