U16 Squash Team Reach National Schools Finals Day

U16 Squash Team Reach National Schools Finals Day

By Mr Pilcher, Head of Squash

Our U16 team has reached the Finals of the English National Schools Plate to be held in Birmingham on 16 March!

On 28 February our U16 team travelled to High Wycombe Squash Club to play against three other schools in the Regional Round of the English National Schools Squash Championships for a place in Finals Day. In a convincing performance the team of Austin K, Freddie WK, Christopher D, Freddie Y & Sachiko S won all their ties (4-1, 4-1 & 5-0). They now play in the Plate Event on National Finals Day at Edgbaston Priory Squash Club on Thursday 16 March.

Our U16 team all started playing squash in either Year 3 or Year 5 at the Prep School and all play regularly either during Games sessions or after School. This is the third time in 9 years that our teams have won through to the National Finals Day since our Development Program was set up. They follow the teams of 2019 & 2020.

The full results from the competition are shown below:

Beat RGS High Wycombe   4-1 / 156-72
Beat Bradfield College
 4-1 / 149-118

Beat JHGS

 5-0 / 162-65

Final Standings

We now look forward to the Finals Day where we will compete with 8 other schools for the National Plate.
