U14 Team Reach English National Schools Squash Finals

On Monday 29 January our U14 Team travelled to Berkhamsted to play against 4 other schools in the Regional Round of the English National Schools Squash Championships. The pupils performed strongly, beating Whitgift, Stowe and the hosts. They played well against a strong Skinners side but finished as runners-up. This means that they have qualified for the Finals at Edgbaston Priory Squash Club in Birmingham on Wednesday 13 March. This is the 4th time in recent years that our teams have reached this stage.

The team consisted of players from both schools: Harrison B (Yr9), Alex M (Yr8), Luca P (Yr8), Archie S (Yr7) & Amelia H (Yr9), all of whom played in a determined and skillful manner.

Summary Results shown below:

Skinners 660 points
Felsted 510 points
Stowe 393 points
Berkhamsted 392 points
Whitgift 388 points

Strong Performance by Squash Team vs Haileybury

On Thursday 1 February Haileybury's squash players visited Felsted for our regular friendly fixture. The home side were in dominant form and put in a very impressive performance winning all their matches to record a 9-0 victory. This was the first time that many of our players had represented the school in a fixture and it was satisfying to see them put their squash skills to great effect.

The team was led by captain Luke S (Yr13) who won his match 3-1 (7-11/11-3/12-10/11-8)
Other results as follows:

Christopher D (Yr10) won 3-0 (11-2/11-4/11-9)
Freddie Y (Yr10) won 3-0 (11-7/13-11/11-8)
Gabriel S (Yr12) won 3-0 (11-2/11-6/11-2)
George M (Yr12) won 3-0 (11-0/11-5/11-6)
Alex E (Yr13) won 2-0 (11-5/11-4)
Harley P (Yr12) won 2-0 (11-3/11-8)
Lochlan A (Yr 12) won 2-0 (11-2/11-5)
Amelia H (Yr9) won 2-0 (11-5/11-9)

We hope to play more friendly fixtures in the future to give as many of our players an opportunity to represent the school in addition to our English National Schools commitments.
