Sustainability at Felsted

“We don’t have to engage in grand, heroic actions to participate in change. Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world.” - Howard Zinn

As Felsted continues on its journey of sustainability we are always looking at where we can make improvements. The key to a whole school approach is through the 4 C’s - Culture, Community, Curriculum and Campus.

Culture includes embedding sustainability into the school ethos through education, events, raising awareness and teamwork. Changing the mindset of pupils, staff, parents and the community.

Community signifies the impact we have on our local area and how they impact us. Remembering to be kind and to look after our environment and peers.

Curriculum, we know that we learn about sustainability, climate change, biodiversity and the environment but we will look into how we can incorporate this into other subjects across the both schools.

Campus includes increasing our biodiversity through rewilding areas through wildflowers, bird boxes/baths, insect hotels and vegetable patches. We have already started but we can still do more...

Felsted is a community and everyone has a voice or a chance to make a difference. This means we need to work with our children and support them as best as we can to make a difference.
