Shakespeare Week Competition

By Mrs H Boroughs, Teacher of English

As part of Shakespeare Week, Felsted Prep School will be entering the competition. There are two age categories to enter;
it is open to ages 4-7 and 8-11 years old.

There’s still plenty of time to take part in this fabulous competition, ‘Write till your ink be dry’ where children can send in their own home-made Shakespeare themed books to win prizes for themselves and their school. From Shakespeare Showstopper baking books to Terrible Tudor joke books, there are endless possibilities for creative fun!

To get you started, several well-known children’s figures including children’s author and illustrator, Marcia Williams and children's author and poet, Michael Rosen have made their own Shakespeare inspired books too which can be viewed in Shakespeare Week's online exhibition.

Please include the following information with each entry:

  • First name
  • Age (and school year)
  • A little bit about your book (What kind of book have you made? How did you make it? What is it about?)

The prizes
Each of the two category winners will have their entry included in the online exhibition, as well as a bundle of Shakespeare themed goodies, art materials and books.

The winner of the collective school entry will receive a special children's author event for their school with a well-known children's author or illustrator, as well as some books for their school library.

All entries to be handed in at school by midday on Wednesday 19 April to Mrs H Boroughs, if you have any queries please contact her on hjb@felsted.org
