Prep Head's Blog: Creativity takes courage

Over the course of the last two weeks, I have been privileged to have met with many of our Year 8 students as part of the pupil leadership application process. Every member of Year 8 has been asked to write a letter outlining their leadership qualities and how they can make a difference to their school.

Mr Fincher and I are incredibly impressed with the potential for building a pupil leadership team who will work alongside us to add value to our community and we would look forward to sharing their brilliant and creative ideas with you. The above quote was on the email signature of one young man in Year 8 and I think it is splendid. To try new ideas, to change things, to think creatively does indeed take courage. This is the spirit of enthusiasm that I know our Year 8 children will bring to their roles.

We will be collating information and announcing the new roles on Thursday 10th November and whilst this seems a long time to wait, it will be important for our children to know that we have taken the time needed to make the best decisions possible.

Across the school this week we have been delighted to see so many parents and grandparents in and around the school. Did you know that this week was National Parents Week? In the spirit of thankfulness, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all our parent community and I hope you enjoy some quality time with your families over the next two weeks.

With warm wishes,

Miranda Norris
