Hamilton House (Week 3 - Spring Term 2023)

By Mr and Mrs Thomas, House Parents

The Senior School has introduced a Formal Dinner, in the evening, for different year groups. On Thursday 10 January 2023, our Year 8 boarders were invited to join Year 9 & 10 boarders at the LRH for supper. The evening gave our young Felstedians an opportunity to experience a meal in a formal environment, which is all part of lifelong learning. In life, we will experience many occasions such as weddings and work-related events where we need to understand the behaviour and etiquette that is expected at such events. Felsted School wants the children to lead successful, fulfilling lives and we want to prepare them for these formal occasions

It was a fabulous opportunity for us to get together as a community and enjoy an evening meal in each other's company.

Following our very successful charity initiatives in the Autumn Term where we raised over £1,000 for Mencap and The Royal British Legion, our charity initiative was launched this week: don’t forget your £1 next week to buy some sweets. Our Charity Monitors have chosen to support the Lullaby Trust this term. Over the last 40 years, the research the trust has funded has helped us to identify why, when and where babies and toddlers may be at risk of sudden and unexpected death, making a major contribution to reducing sudden infant death by more than 80%.

That just leaves us to wish you all a very happy Exeat. Rest, Relax and Recharge and we will be ready to welcome you back from 5.30pm on Sunday evening.
