Charity Monitor Update from Shiro G:
‘I am a proud member of Hamilton House and last Thursday we reached a huge milestone. We had sold 1,000 sweet bags and at £1 a bag meant we had reached our £1,000 target. We were very proud to present our cheque to the Felsted Mission. When I asked them what sort of things our money will be used for they said it will support lots of vulnerable families this Christmas. As a charity team and boarding family we are all very proud of what we have achieved’

Tuesday evening saw us all enjoying our annual gingerbread house competition. Creativity was flowing and the children used their imaginations to create some interesting (albeit sugary) houses!  Christmas PJs were worn and Christmas movies played throughout the House while the boarders thoroughly enjoyed their sweet treats. It was a lovely end of term for us all.

Reverse Advent is Back!
NO ACT OF KINDNESS, NO MATTER HOW SMALL IS EVER WASTED ( AESOP)
As in previous years, we have decided not to have advent calendars or Christmas cards in the boarding house and instead we are doing a Reverse Advent - the idea is to give something back through an act of kindness, write an encouraging message or give something to a charity. Therefore, in the spirit of Christmas, our Wellbeing Monitors will be making a visit to Hamilton House and leaving messages, acknowledging any acts of kindness, thoughtfulness or helpfulness over the week. We have seen great acts of kindness, friendship and positivity in Week 12. Thank you to the Wellbeing Monitors for making all the cards.

Introduce a Boarder: Genevieve C

When did you start boarding?
Beginning of Autumn term 2023. I board three nights a week.

What do you enjoy most about boarding in Hamilton House?
The food - the Catering Team always makes the best suppers and chilling with friends. At the end of the day it's nice to rest and relax after a busy day

Were you worried about anything before you joined Hamilton House?
At first I wondered how I would settle as I was new to Felsted but it’s like my 2nd home now. I love it!

What are you looking forward to?
This weekend, as a House, we are off to see Mrs Doubtfire at Shaftesbury Theatre. We are going out for supper first and then after the show we are all coming back to Hamilton House for a sleepover!
