GCSE Drama Devising Exam

GCSE Drama Devising Exam

On Monday 12 June, 27 Year 10 Drama GCSE pupils performed their original devised plays in the Hunt Theatre.

All participating in the exam chose to have their acting assessed for this component (lighting, set, costume, sound are other options offered). The plays were original and offered a glimpse on the teenage view of the world in diverse, entertaining and sometimes harrowing themes. The six plays staged were based on Art Therapy, County Lines, a Gap Year, Migration, a Simulation world and the emergence of 'talkies' / female exploitation in 1920's Hollywood. The pupils were off timetable during the day to 'tech' their shows, adding light and sound to enhance their performances. The evening was brilliant and the audience were hugely supportive of the pupils taking their exam; thank you and well done to all involved.
