Felsted Students at Buckingham Palace for Gold DofE Award Celebration!

Felsted Students at Buckingham Palace for Gold DofE Award Celebration!

Five OFs and one current student enjoyed a wonderful morning of sunshine at Buckingham Palace on Monday 15 May, receiving their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Awards.

OFs Marcus Dove, Ewan Cacace, Sebastian Dove, Dominic Savva, Florence Burrows, and also current Year 13 student Harry W were invited to the palace event to celebrate their DofE achievements. His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh (Prince Edward) gave an inspirational speech about his own experiences on the scheme and then chatted to award winners, and even played a game of Cornhole in the gardens with guests! Tea and cakes were enjoyed by all, and entertainment was provided by two army bands and other special guest speakers, including Jermaine Jenas and Ade Adepitan MBE.

As a result of exams and other commitments, some Felsted award winners were unable to attend, but will be invited to the ceremony next year.
