Boys Hockey Tour to Holland
by Mr N Phillips, Boys Hockey
During the first week of half term the boys U18 hockey squad travelled to Holland to begin their preparations for the season ahead. Playing at some of the premier clubs in the country afforded the boys tough competition and a hockey experience they would not have gained anywhere else.
The week consisted of 4 matches, a pro-led training session by Kim van Leewuwen from HC Bloemendaal, fun experiences at the HUP Hotel and Duinrell Theme Park and a trip to watch a Hoofdklasse (Premier League) hockey match at HC Rotterdam.
As the week progressed it was fantastic to see the group gel as a team which culminated in a final day victory against HC Hertogenbosch.
It was a pleasure to take this group away and I would also like to thank Mr Andrews and Mr Harrison-Price for accompanying the trip with such enthusiasm.
