Claudia, now in L6 and in Follyfield, performed extremely well in both the selection test and interview to prove herself as one of the country's top STEM students during her final GCSE year.

The awards ceremony took place in the Faraday Hall at the Headquarters of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in London. She now benefits from having a sponsor which comes with funding toward engineering related projects or courses to help Claudia achieve entry onto a top engineering degree course.

Claudia has her eyes set on mechanical or marine engineering at the moment, favouring Southampton university as a likely place of study. In the meantime she will be studying A levels in D&T:Product Design, Physics and Maths which should ensure an excellent footing into the world of engineering.

She follows in a long line of students from Felsted who have received Arkwright awards over the last 15years and will help the next selection of Felsted students currently in Yr 11 as they prepare for the selection test in February 2023.
