The CCF were lucky enough to be visited by an Apache helicopter from the Army Air Corps, which landed on the playing fields of the Prep School, this was a very exciting experience and an insight into the world of military aviation.
After briefly walking around the helicopter, we had the opportunity to speak to the pilot and commander. They were able to tell us about the technical details of the aircraft and to answer questions about the training required to become a pilot.
Interestingly it turns out that we have 50 Apaches in operation and another 14 in training so the opportunity to fly is very limited. However, it was a great opportunity to find out more, all within the grounds of Felsted.
