Sian Townsend - Research & Analytics (Instagram)

At Felsted Sian was a prefect, scholar and played 1st team hockey and acted on the stage.

Sian studied International Politics at the University of Bristol and then attended the University of California to read Typography and Typographic Design. Upon completion, Sian returned to the UK and graduated from University College London with a Masters in Human-Computer Interaction with Ergonomics. This opened up huge opportunities for Sian and she began her career working as an International User Experience Manager at Vodafone.

After 3 years, she moved to Google as a Senior User Researcher and was then promoted to User Experience Research Lead in 2010. She then took on the role as Director of Research and Analytics for Intercom. Sian is now Research Manager at Instagram and based in San Diego, California.
