Samuel Maurer, an international full boarder from Switzerland, achieved an extremely credible 40 points in the IB Diploma, with top marks in English and Spanish. Sam joined Felsted in Year 9 on a full bursary, funded by a generous former international pupil and successful business leader. Sam fully involved himself in school life as both a Prefect and an Academic Scholar, balancing his studies with taking part in Model United Nations events and playing football, squash and rugby. Sam has met his offer to read International Relations and Organisations at Leiden University in the Netherlands.
Sam enjoyed the broad curriculum that the IB Diploma provides and did not want to be limited to studying just three A Level subjects. He particularly enjoyed working alongside students from different cultures for the depth of debate it provides. Sam is delighted with his results and thanks Felsted for all the opportunities it has provided to get him where he is today.
