Professor Lucilla Poston is Head of the Division of Reproduction and Endocrinology and Director of the Maternal and Fetal Research Unit at King’s College London.
She graduated in Physiology from University College London and undertook her PhD at London University. In 1995, she was appointed to ‘Tommy’s’, the Baby Charity Chair of Maternal and Fetal Health at King’s College, and founded the Maternal and Fetal Research Unit.
She is an honorary fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK), a Senior Investigator of the National Institutes of Health Research (NIHR) and a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences (UK). Her current research funding portfolio includes grants from the BBSRC (Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council), British Heart Foundation, and NIHR and she has published more than 200 original research papers.
Lucilla was one of the first girls to attend Felsted in 1970, and we were honoured to welcome her back to Felsted to open our newest Girls’ House, Thorne, in 2010 and as our Guest of Honour at Speech Day in 2012. A Science Laboratory at Felsted is also named in her honour.
