James Knight

James secured a place at the National College for Motorsport at Silverstone Race Track on a Race Technician Course.

At Felsted since Year 4, James represented the school in various sports and was captain of the 2nd XI hockey in his final year.

The Race Technician course is for one year.  James had two interviews with the course tutors, and amongst 500 applicants, only 100 places were offered.  He will be going to the college two days a week, one day online learning, and the other two days on work placement with a race team.

James hopes to gain an apprenticeship with the race team, with the end goal of working in Formula One.

During his time at Felsted James particularly enjoyed being in the school Golf Team and Crombies in his final summer, smashing the biggest 6 in the school’s history that saw the ball fly over the main school building almost hitting the clock tower.

He comments; "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Felsted.  It has not just educated me academically but taught me so many different things about myself in so many ways. Having not sat GCSE because of the pandemic, A Levels seemed rather daunting, but I am delighted with my good set of results, despite not needing any specific grades to get into the college I chose.

I’d like to thank everyone at Felsted for their support and guidance during my time at the school.  I shall treasure the memories."
