At Felsted Charlie was a house prefect and played rugby before going on to study Graphic Design at UWE Bristol. 

Upon graduating from university, Charlie worked as Art Director for Car Magazine and then for Bernie Ecclestone on Formula One Magazine before joining the BBC. Charlie worked as Creative Director at Formula One Magazine and Top Gear Magazine, in which he was appointed Editor-in-Chief in 2010. Today, he is responsible for creating the world’s most exciting and engaging automotive content and delivering it across all platforms. Top Gear is the most popular car magazine in the world and in his 14 years at the BBC, Charlie has been lucky enough to drive the world’s best cars in some truly staggering locations.
