Sewing Buttons for the NHS

Many in the Felsted community, including those living in Windsors and Thorne Houses, have been helping a village initiative to sew on buttons.  Every so often a box of sewn bands are left in a box on the Chelmsford Rd. Residents of Felsted can then pick up a bag of 12 bands (or several bags) and sew the buttons on.  Once done, the bands are then delivered to Broomfield Hospital. The bands mean that the elastic of the face masks do not need to go round the ears and instead go around the buttons, saving very sore ears! The NHS staff are extremely grateful.

The Palmer family in Windsor's first volunteered to do this 3 weeks ago and have completed 36 bands between the three of them!
