Police Search Dog Training at Felsted

On the (very wet and blustery) morning of Friday 30th July, Felsted School once again welcomed back the highly trained and elite members of the Met Police (and their handlers) as they carried out Police Search Dog training in and around the buildings and grounds of our school.

The Police Instructor Training Officer had been charged with arranging continuity training for the Officers and dogs alike, in readiness for an upcoming event as they needed a "live" theatre in which to train, so after making contact with us to confirm dates, times and availability, Windsor’s House and the adjoining grounds were offered for the training.

The school security team hosted the officers for the day as all dogs and handlers were put through their paces in a variety of scenarios, which included carrying out extensive searches for tobacco, drugs and explosives and these were conducted both inside and outside of the buildings.

After ‘pawsing’ for thought and posing for the obligatory photographs, the officers concluded their training and reiterated their thanks to the school and also to Dew Security for the support received and we look forward to hosting them again next term.
