On Thursday 10 October, a handful of Felsted pupils participated in a Poetry Together event. Set up by Gyles Brandreth, Poetry Together is a wonderful initiative to bring school children and the elderly together and perform a poem off by heart.
It is such a simple idea to have all ages sharing the joy of performing together.
The residents of New Deanery Care Home in Braintree came to Felsted for a tea party and we had a lot of fun reciting the poem “The Orange” by Wendy Cope together and also sharing some stories.
It felt very rewarding seeing the New Deanery residents so happy and it was nice for us to welcome them to Felsted. I hope we will be able to do the same again next year.
