Felsted Catering Manager, Rene Hauret and his dedicated team have been shortlisted for the Self-Managed School Caterer of the year by Educatering Magazine!
Felsted's Catering Department serves on average 1200 meals per day throughout breakfast, lunch and supper, alongside Sports Tea’s, evening snacks for boarders, functions and events.
With the help of Felsted students who make up the 'food committee', there have been many initiatives introduced over the last few years, which have contributed to the shortlisting of this prestigious award.
These include 'Meat Free Tuesday', 'Blue Fish Friday', 'Street Food Thursday' and the food waste campaign which saw a 27.7% reduction of food waste in just one term. The winner of each award category will be revealed at a gala dinner, held at the Royal Garden Hotel, London on Tuesday 8th October 2019.
