Felsted Shortlisted for Tes Boarding School of the Year 2023

Felsted is delighted to be shortlisted as one of 8 schools in the country for the Tes Boarding School of the Year 2023; an award for improvement or maintained continued excellence in the 2021-22 academic year. The Tes Schools Awards, now in its 15th year, celebrates the extraordinary commitment, quality and innovation shown by teachers and support staff across the UK.

The panel of awards judges include school leaders, experts and education researchers. The judges looked for schools offering more than just academic achievement, but those that have demonstrated innovation, imagination and efforts to develop children in ways that go beyond the league tables.

Felsted Head Chris Townsend comments;

We are delighted to be one of 8 schools in the country to be shortlisted for this prestigious award, which recognises the hard work being put in across the school by pupils, staff and parents. Felsted is more than just a school, it is a way of life, and the boarding ethos helps to make it such a strong community. Through this, students are encouraged to develop as individuals and to go out and make a positive difference to the world, wherever they end up and whatever they are doing.

Tes editor and chief judge of the Tes Schools Awards Jon Severs said:

With these awards we honour the education community, whom we have served for over 112 years. This year has seen some incredibly high quality entries. So every teacher and school who has been named in this shortlist should be very proud – it’s a fantastic achievement.

The winner will be announced at the TES School Awards Ceremony on Friday 23 June at London's Grosvenor Park Hotel.

You have a truly wonderful school with the most supportive community that I feel honoured to have been a part of.
