On Wednesday 25 May Felsted celebrated Africa Day. This was led by some of our pupils of African heritage, who worked with the help of the Internationalism Committee and members of the Equality and Diversity Team to make the day a success.
On Wednesday morning, members of the Africa Day organising team spoke to pupils in Chapel about the significance of the day and why we were celebrating it.
The theme this year was Nutrition and the catering team and pupils got involved by cooking and serving local dishes including chicken stew, jollof rice and fried plantain. This was accompanied by Afrobeat music. Posters and information sheets were also printed and displayed on walls and tables so everybody could learn a bit about the food they were enjoying.
