The Power of Words
Dear Felsted Families,
Swing into Spring 2026 was, once again, outstanding. The entire music team across the school is over the moon with the continued love of music we see from our pupil body.

They ‘rocked!’
I want to turn my attention to you: the parents and families who have been there for first notes, first lines, hesitant first practices, the wobbles, the frustrations, the nerves before performances, and so many other aspects of what it takes to be on the stage and perform.
High standards are only achieved by having the best people on your team to encourage, guide, coach, and celebrate. Without the entire team, the magic doesn’t happen! Congratulations to the performers, the teaching team, and of course, our families and friends who are there front and centre throughout every stage.
Today, we witnessed another outcome of hard work and effort as our Prep School World Speech Day 2026 took place. The passion for changing the world came shining through in every word and I, for one, feel reassured that our learners will be the leaders of tomorrow. I have no doubt that many of you know these speeches word for word and are as inspired as we have been to hear the conviction for change.

My hope is that we listen and act so that our learners know we can all be agents of change. It starts with our interactions, our determination to understand that kindness is a choice, and our commitment to keep going even when there are challenges.
Tomorrow’s assembly will focus on the power of words, and we will be looking at the following to help us in our everyday interactions:
T - Is it TRUE? H - Is it HELPFUL? I - Is it INSPIRING? N - Is it NECESSARY? K - Is it KIND?
As a Headteacher, I see daily examples of kindness across our school, and this is further exemplified in the ‘wow moments’ that are often too many to count.
I would like to thank you all for your continued support and encouragement of our learners as they continue to learn and grow. Kindness is like learning an instrument: there will be tentative steps, there will be wobbles, and there is a need for coaching, support, and a commitment to working hard to be the best at being kind.
With many warm wishes for a restful Exeat weekend ahead,
Miranda Norris
