Respect and Reflect

Respect and Reflect

I would like to start by thanking everyone who was involved in last Sunday's Remembrance Service. It was an incredibly moving experience to hear the names of all those from Felsted who had lost their lives as a result of the Second World War read out. It was even more moving when one of the OFs, who had returned for the event, had read out his own father's name as part of this act of remembrance. I would like to offer a particular thank you to our choir for singing so well, and to all of our CCF who participated in the parade.

In this week's newsletter, I am pleased to share the feedback from the recent micro-survey. Thank you to those parents who took the time to fill this out, and it is encouraging to see that the general view is that we are making progress in all of these four targeted areas. Of course, there remains work to be done, but I hope that you will continue to work with us to achieve the outstanding outcomes that we all want for all of the pupils. If you raised a particular point in your response to the survey, where appropriate, we will pick that up with you separately, so that we can ensure that our response is effective as a whole, but also tailored to the individual.

Having written to you all earlier in the week, about proposed developments for Felsted School, I am very grateful to those of you who have put yourselves forward to participate in focus groups. It is essential that any change to the school identifies all challenges, overcomes them, and delivers the very best experience for pupils, parents and staff. If you are not able to attend at the set time, please do feel free to share thoughts via email, or just come in and speak to someone at the school. It is a very exciting opportunity to set the future pathway for the school, and at the same time, the process is moving ahead for the appointment of the new Head. This process remains on track for an appointment before the end of this term.

I hope that many of you will have had the opportunity to see the incredible 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' this week. I look forward to reflecting fully on that in next week's newsletter.
