Prep Head's Blog: The Promise of Summer

It has been a real delight to see the return of all our Prep children this week along with blue skies and the promise of Summer. We are looking forward to so many events that will be stunning with the warmer weather to come.

This weekend marks the end of Ramadan for our families who have been observing a month of fasting, prayer and service to others and there will be family gatherings around the globe to mark this important day.

Celebrating time with loved ones has always been important but when festivals occur, it makes this time all the more precious. Felsted is home to many faiths and the month of April has been a special time in households both near and far away. It is important to us as a school family to be able to support and celebrate religious beliefs and I know that we have families across the school who often come in and share this aspect of their lives with children during assemblies and workshops. I will be meeting with class reps next week and hope to seek further support in this area from our Felsted community. If you would like to offer your time in this way, please do contact your class representative.

As always the start of a new term reignites the need to form good habits and I would like to encourage a return to swift and efficient ‘kiss and drop’ methods that will help to improve our arrival and collection arrangements. I would like to celebrate the following actions and say thank you to our parents and team:

Car sharing - brilliant to see more of this happening

Use of one drop off point only - children are brilliant at walking to their part of the school following drop off

Respect for each other and the Felsted team - a key Felsted value in action, thank you

With warm wishes for the weekend ahead,

Miranda Norris,
Head, Felsted Prep

PS - I am sure that Chris won't mind but this Sunday is the London Marathon and he will be running in aid of The Lord's Taverners. I have included the link here but over and above this, we will all be thinking of him and wishing him the best of luck.
