Prep Head's Blog: Felsted Respects
Quote from Bill Gates "As we look ahead into the next century, leaders will be those who empower others."

Brigadier Ian Dobbie shared his experiences of service with us during our act of remembrance on Friday 11 November. He spoke of building a team and of holding his nerve in spite of challenging circumstances. Before the service, he shared stories of his school days and how different they were to the experiences of children today. His memory of teachers who believed in him however will stay in his memory for always and he spoke with such warmth of the men he had led and in particular the men who had become outstanding officers because he, in turn, believed in their abilities.

It is with deep respect that we continue to remember the fallen and that we lead our communities and our children in the act each year. I would like to extend my thanks to all those who helped in our act of remembrance, the team of children behind the scenes who organised and decorated the chapel, Rev. Little for his calm guiding hand, our readers who shared their verses and prayers with such clarity, Rory for his simply stunning playing of the Last Post and The Reveille and of course to Brigadier Ian Dobbie.

Our Year 8 children have been allocated positions within leadership groups that will seek to inspire and empower the school over the coming months ahead. Arguably, future employers are looking for those key skills of collaboration and teamwork alongside the ability to be agile in thought. The first meetings will be held in the next few days and we are excited to see our Year 8 leaders launch into action.

Looking ahead to this weekend, I join you in looking forward to the Christmas Fair! Our amazing Friends of Felsted team have been planning and organising an event that will allow festive feelings to arrive.

With warm wishes to all our families,
