Prep Head's Blog: Enjoy the Moment
Dear Felsted families,
You will no doubt have noticed the extensive roadworks this week. What has struck me most has been the cars travelling at 20 miles per hour in order to avoid chips, damage and to reduce the risk of skidding.
Do we do this ourselves? We know that the Summer term gains momentum and seems to go by so quickly, yet it is often the most memorable. Our Summer trips, camps and productions alongside Speech Day and celebrating next steps form the cornerstone of this term. Behind the scenes we have our amazing team moving benches onto the fields, constructing tents and shades, creating picnics, mowing fields, planning Sports Days, transportation, costumes, rehearsals, carefully constructing progress reports, composing speeches … the list is endless.
My question is - do we slow down and enjoy the moments?
Over the past week, there have been so many wonderful events and too many for us all to attend. However, I want to focus on one event in particular - the international breakfast. Food and cultures from across the world were celebrated and time was set aside to ask questions and think about different approaches. In our busy day to day lives, this deliberate act of pausing to celebrate diversity helps to build awareness and create a memory that will help our future interactions.
My hope for our Felsted families is that you have some time to pause and enjoy the moments over the coming weeks ahead. For all our learners, this will be their final term in their year group and every second should be cherished.
For some of our families, there may be only one or two events that you can make it to this term. Please do not worry, whenever we see you, we will be delighted and our hope is that you enjoy the event to the fullest.
Our aim for the weeks ahead is to be carefully planned, well rested and prepared so that we can keep a steady pace and reduce the need for speeding through.
With warm wishes,
Miranda Norris
