Pitch-side Pride to Festive Performances
Dear Felsted families,
There are so many ‘Felsted Moments’ to celebrate each week and it was an absolute joy to watch our hockey teams in action from the sidelines on Wednesday! Celebrating the last hockey match of the term and the skills displayed on the pitch was absolutely wonderful. Thank you to all our players and coaches and I look forward to celebrating more in our assembly next week.
As I returned to school I met with some of our rugby players and families and I want to say that the development of our teams across the term has been thanks to the hard work of our pupils, coaches and supporters. As always, I wish I could be at every match but I thoroughly enjoy hearing about the action both home and away on their return.
This week we have had a tiny breather between the delights of our Years 3 & 4 production and the enchanting Nativity performances that commenced today. Thank you as always to our youngest pupils who help us to embrace the Christmas message. My first Nativity starts tomorrow with our Reception children and I simply cannot wait!
For those eagle eyed parents, you will have seen our League Captains outside welcoming our families and pupils this morning and I am delighted that our pupil leadership teams are increasing their presence around the school. More news to come of this in the New Year.
I would also like to share a small snippet of the feedback we have received regarding the boarders views on the supper arrangements at the LRH. With huge thanks to the catering team who have received glowing praise and also to our boarding team who have remarked on the mature behaviour of our pupils during their supper times. Food at Felsted is always taken very seriously indeed. With this in mind, I am also getting ready to attend a number of ‘Christmas Meal’ events next week that will include our catering team getting into the festive spirit with our Junior and Pre-Prep children as they enjoy a traditional festive treat (brussel sprouts included) and of course, the Christmas Feast with Years 7 & 8 children.
As the festivities continue, I am looking forward to seeing you all at the Christmas Cracker Concert this evening and please be ready for the interactive elements with full song and a dash of Christmas glitter! Thank you to our entire music team who continue to move our musicians forward and have been supporting the ABRSM music examinations this week alongside a plethora of rehearsals.
This weekend continues to be packed full of Christmas cheer, with our Carol Service on Saturday and the Felsted tree lights with the Steel Band on Sunday. It will be wonderful to see you all there.
With warm wishes,
Miranda Norris
