Performances from Stage to Maths Competitions

Dear Felsted families,

I have to dedicate this week’s newsletter to our Years 7&8 cast who took to the stage for a production of Romeo and Juliet that can only be described as breathtaking. The level of skill on display was truly incredible; they drew the audience into the heart of Verona and simply nailed every beat. The bar has been set higher than ever! A massive thank you to the entire cast and crew for such a stunning performance. I know Mrs. Fincher, our Prep Head of Drama, is incredibly proud of every single member of the cast and crew. (I also would love a copy of the playlist!)
 

Speaking of playlists, music has a unique way of bringing people together, and the Chelmsford Infant Music Festival was a shining example of that. With performances all through this week, it has been an incredible success, uniting local infant schools through the joy of song. The performance of 'There’s a Sunflower in My Supper' was simply enchanting and stayed with everyone long after the final note. Our sincere thanks go to Mrs. Clarke for her brilliant leadership in heading up this amazing event.

Not every event is one that we can watch and behind the scenes we have seen some stunning entries for the recent ‘Maths Story competition!’ This initiative, which has been championed by Miss Goodwin, has encouraged our mathematicians to channel their inner 'author', blending logic with literal adventures. To give you a taste of the creativity on display, one story follows James and his dad at Prezzo for dinner. When a cat joins them, a crisis arises: how to split the meal equally? Thankfully James saves the day, proving that math is the ultimate real-world superpower!

With a day focused on Red Nose Day for Comic Relief tomorrow, the week has been packed full of excitement. I want to wish all those who are taking music exams next week the very best of luck with their final preparations this weekend.
