Looking Back on an Incredible Year

Dear Parents and Carers,

As the weather finally warms up and the sunshine breaks through, we find ourselves in the penultimate week of term. There is a distinct shift in the air as we enter the "celebratory zone" in full force, looking back on an incredible year while cheering our children on through these final, busy weeks. Keep the hats going and the sunscreen too!

Last night, I had the absolute privilege of attending the Year 4 concert at the Chelmsford Theatre, and to say the children were astounding would be an understatement! They were simply stunning.

They took us on a brilliant musical journey, starting with Take That (I am a fan!), and treating us to spectacular renditions of Electricity and I Just Can't Wait to be King. Tilly C also rocked out to Iron Maiden and captivated the entire theatre on the electric guitar!

A massive congratulations must also go to the parents in the crowd. Your accompaniment during Hey Jude was magnificent (after a tiny bit of training) thank you as always for bringing such energy and community spirit to the night!

Meanwhile, back on campus, our youngest learners at Stewart House had a wonderful time celebrating Pyjamarama and Animal Day, adding an extra layer of joy and comfort to our week.
 

While working together for these big, milestone moments is a massive part of what makes our school community so special, I was reminded recently that true magic often hides in the smaller, unplanned moments. It is these "in-between" spaces that truly build our relationships, friendships, and families.

Earlier today, I was mid-tour when everything came to a delightful standstill. Year 5 were heading outside for an outdoor art lesson just as a majestic red kite began circling overhead. The air was instantly filled with squeals of pure excitement as the children spied the spectacular bird soaring amongst the crows.

It was a moment of genuine awe and wonder … the kind you simply cannot plan for, but must stop and embrace.

The excitement doesn't stop here. As we head into the final stretch of the summer term, I am greatly looking forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming Sports Days Celebration Events, FoF Family Fun Day and of course, for next week’s highly anticipated production of Mary Poppins!
