Kindness and Cake

Kindness and Cake

Dear Felsted Families,

It has been another energetic week in the Prep School, filled with moments of deep reflection and high-stakes ‘whisking’. From the incredibly thoughtful theme of our Chapel service to the sweet aroma of the Bake Off in action, the children have truly shown us the best of their characters (and their culinary skills!).

This week, the children from Gaselee led a truly powerful Chapel service that encouraged us to ‘be the light’. Their message was that it takes real courage to be kind. Drawing on the legacy of Abraham Lincoln, the children reminded us of his deep commitment to equality and the monumental effort required to build a nation united by fairness. Lincoln’s life teaches us that kindness is an active choice. Through their presentation, Gaselee highlighted that true strength lies in the hard work and determination it takes to make kind choices consistently, each and every day. A huge thank you to Gaselee for reminding us that our character is built one small, brave act of kindness at a time.

Felsted Prep finalists in the League Bake Off 2026.

This afternoon, the atmosphere has been a little more... ‘floury’. As I write this, our ten finalists are just beginning to pre-heat their ovens for the grand final of the Bake Off 2026!

By the time this newsletter reaches your inbox, the results will be in and the star baker crowned! I must admit, being part of the panel that gets to sample these delicious results is a 'tough' job, but someone has to do it! I am beyond excited (and possibly a little too hungry) to see and taste the final creations.

Whether it is in the Chapel or the kitchen, it is wonderful to see our pupils putting so much heart into everything they do. Inspiration in action as always!

Warm wishes,

Miranda
