A Strong Start to the New Term
Dear Felsted Families,
You will no doubt have heard many exciting things already from the start of term and I would like to share a few ‘Felsted Moments’ with you from this week.
A highlight for me as an incredibly proud Head of Prep was to see so many parents at various welcome back events where our Felsted team were able to share their passion and knowledge about the learning experiences we all value. Working in partnership has never been more important and it is such a privilege to see practitioners who value professional learning and development that translates directly into practice so that we continue to develop our school-wide culture. High expectations, high standards and high support in action.
It has been a strong start for our sports teams across the Prep school and I saw some generous play on the rugby pitch this week and would like to congratulate all our hockey and rugby players who certainly embody the ‘compete with purpose’ message that Miss Westwood has shared this term. Some excellent results all round!
You may have seen Romans and Victorians making their way to school as well as a rare sighting of our newest young Guide Dog, Seth, who made his debut in our Pre-Prep this week. Please do take some time to read about these ‘awe and wonder’ moments that continue to inspire our children.
The slides from our recent Heads’ Seminar on Friendship seek to demonstrate that the purpose of our seminars is to invite discussion, share ideas and experiences and provide space to delve into issues that help support our children’s development. We welcomed parents of Reception children through to parents of Year 13 so it made for a fascinating journey indeed. Chris and I are certainly looking forward to our next seminar on 8 November which will be on the subject of ‘Screen Time and Social Media.’

I would like to say a continued thank you to our community for your efforts during morning arrival and evening collection times. We are seeing smooth approaches across the board, and whilst there will be those inevitable sticky jams, it has been a joy to see and hear people actively helping with ideas and with sticking to time windows. Thank you all very much indeed.
I hope you all have a restful weekend ahead,
Miranda Norris
