A Season for Focus, Balance and Kindness

A Season for Focus, Balance and Kindness

As we move further into the Summer Term, many of our pupils are now in, or stepping into, the examination season. This can be an exciting time where they are able to enjoy demonstrating their academic passions and progress, but it can also bring pressure, and we have been reminding pupils of the importance of looking after themselves, not just academically, but in every aspect of their daily routines.

We have encouraged them to take a holistic approach to their wellbeing: to eat well, sleep well, keep hydrated, and make time for rest and leisure. Sport, music and creative arts can all play a vital role in maintaining balance, regulating emotions, reducing stress and keeping the mind sharp. Stepping away from screens, even briefly, can likewise make a significant difference to focus, energy levels and wellbeing. Above all, pupils have been reminded to look after themselves and each other. Kindness remains at the heart of who we are as a community, and everyone matters.

Alongside this, we continue to emphasise this term’s four key areas, in supporting effective learning and personal growth:

  • Personal organisation;
  • Positive behaviour for effective learning;
  • Time management;
  • Personal presentation

These expectations help create the conditions in which every young person can thrive, and all staff are committed to supporting pupils in meeting them consistently.

We are also looking forward to welcoming many new families for our Open Morning this Saturday and again on Saturday 16 May for our Junior Prep families. It is always a pleasure to showcase the very best of Felsted, the warmth of our community, the breadth of opportunity, and the spirit that makes this such a wonderful place to learn and grow.

We wish all our pupils the very best as they navigate the weeks ahead, and remain proud of the way in which members of our community continue to support one another.

With best wishes
